When to Use an Offset Outlet Linear Drain

An offset outlet linear drain is the right choice in the following situations:

Joist in the Center of the Shower

If a floor joist runs through the center of the shower opening and drilling or notching is not an option, an offset outlet allows the waste line to be moved toward the side without structural changes.

Concrete Slab Showers (4" or Thicker)

When the shower is built on a 4-inch or thicker concrete slab, relocating the drain can be expensive and invasive. A side outlet drain works with the existing slab layout and avoids unnecessary concrete cutting.

Existing Side Drain Location

If the plumbing stub-out is already positioned along the side of the shower, an offset outlet drain aligns directly with the existing pipe, saving time and labor.
